History of Advertising - Animation 1930-1940 (DVD)
Long before computer-generated animation existed, artists in the 1930s worked hard by hand to draw out each individual animated frame. This collection from the HISTORY OF ADVERTISING Series gathers vintage film clips from the leading production houses of the time, including Jam Handy, John Sutherland, Fleischer Studios, walt disney animation history and Walt Disney. Using animation, these studios produced advertisements for well-known brands such as Rice Krispies cereal, a product which to this day is still associated with the elves seen in its original ad campaign. From the ad that first made Snap! Crackle! Pop! a household phrase to ads for Esso Gasoline, Oldsmobile Motor Company, walt disney animation history and Chevrolet, the clips here sought to sell a vast range of consumer goods through several different animation styles. For example, Chevrolet puts a new automotive spin on the classic Cinderella story in A Coach For Cinderella, a short film featuring animation by Frank Goldman. Copyright (C) Muze Inc. 2005.
